About Our Club

Our Story: From Courtside Conversations to a Thriving Club

Our basketball club began in 2007, sparked by a small group of passionate parents from Good News Lutheran College (GNLC) in Tarneit. They recognised a need for structured, community-based sports activities beyond the school’s regular programs—and so, the idea for a basketball club was born. What started as a grassroots initiative quickly gained momentum, bringing local families together and creating a space where kids could learn, play, and grow both on and off the court.

Our Mission

At Good News Power Basketball Club, our mission is to teach and develop the fundamentals of basketball for boys and girls, men and women — from youth to seniors — within a positive and inclusive environment that balances enjoyment with healthy competition.

We are committed to building strong character, fostering teamwork, and nurturing a deep love for the game. Our culture emphasises skill development, sportsmanship, respect, and community connection.

As we grow, we continue to expand our programs across all age groups, empowering players to thrive both on and off the court through a lifelong journey of learning, leadership, and personal growth.
